We get this questions a lot so figured we'd add it here too - the box located under the seat is an insulated and welded cooler that will maintain ice for 8+ hours. It also has enough space for 15, 12oz cans of your favorite beverage. The cooler can also serve as utility storage as it has 2 exterior pockets that are perfect for keys, sunglasses, suncreens etc.

UPDATE: OK so I still don't care for the chair at all. BUT, as stated earlier. Their Customer Service is EXCELLENT, so I updated the review start rating to reflect this positive experience.
I am EXTREMELY disappointed in this chair for a number of reasons.
1. The cup holder solution is pretty poor. it has a good premise but has the potential to get lost easy and/or smushed Which in my case it has.
2. The lack of any adjustment makes it really uncomfortable to sit in. On flat ground around a camp fire... but ESPECIALLY, if you are on even a slight hill or grade. And I am not talking about a large one, even a small slant feels really bad. You either feel like you are falling back or falling forward.
3. You'd think that #2 would be the worst thing about this chair, BUT, I also bought this thing for its ability to carry a (light) load of food and/or beverages in the cooler. The clasps that keep it closed open without warning while carrying, and the cooler zipper really stinks, it's been mis aligned more than one and doesn't seem to close right.
Side Note: one of the carrying strap clasps broke immediately (before i took it anywhere), but this was covered by their warranty and replaced immediately. So their customer service's heart is in the right place.
I still use it regularly because I paid so much money for it. It kills me when people come up to me and are like "cool chair" because it looks so nice. BUT I have to tell them about my experiences and tell them to…

Just received my chair and I’m impressed by the quality of construction and materials used. The frame is much bigger in person and im happy about that. I ordered the foot guards and was also very satisfied that they installed them for me instead of sending them in the package and making me install them. I thought the chair came with straps though as part of the purchase a d they didnt. Maybe its because I ordered tbe overlander straps. Im bit disappointed but I was going to use the regular straps for beach days and then the overlandwr straps if i was going to have to walk car with the chair. Anyways it doesnt change my opinion on the quality. Also, did i mention that it is sooo sooo comfortable to sit in! The cooler is also a great idea and is super high quality and i love that it is removable. If your on the fence with getting the chair because of the cost just buy it you wont be upset.
